Global Readiness in Event & Extra Curricular Activities

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day at St. Richard's School

What a lovely day for a parade! Grade 4 students, along with Ms. Malooley, Ms. Young, Mrs. Rhoades, and Mrs. Williams, marched in the St. Patrick's Day Parade yesterday in downtown Indianapolis. Students proudly carried 19 flags which represent the countries of origin of students at our school.  Tim Sublett, parent of a Grade 4 student, was instrumental in assisting with the flag and banner effort. In keeping with our global theme, the students enjoyed a well-deserved lunch at Acapulco Joe's.

The Helping Hand Festival at St. Richard's School

The Helping Hands Festival took place at St. Richard's School on Saturday, November 8 from 2008. The sixth annual event was a feast for the senses, full of unique handcrafted treasures from around the globe. Local church groups and charitable organizations displayed and sold works of artisans from countries as diverse as Zimbabwe, El Salvador, Vietnam, and Haiti. All merchandise for sale at the Helping Hands Festival directly benefited developing world artisans and producers who struggle to meet their most basic needs. During the festival, student artwork from St. Richard's students was displayed, and Mrs. Eiszner's choirs sang and played games from various countries around the world.  Due to the success of this event, St. Richard's School will host this event on an annual basis. Due to the success of this event, St. Richard's will again host this event on November 14 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Stay tuned to learn more about how to get involved with this international event!
