It has been proven that pre-kindergarten education and socialization are key components to the intellectual and emotional development of children. Our early childhood programs are taught by experts in the field and establish a firm foundation for success in school and a well-balanced social life.

With hands-on activities designed to develop their skills in language arts, literacy, mathematics, art, and French, students progress at their own pace, building confidence in their ability to learn. We also concentrate on physical education, faith development, and social and emotional development, helping our students become well-adjusted, fit and joyous learners.

Pre-Kindergarten

If your child is three by June 1, our Pre-Kindergarten program will give you an opportunity to provide a caring environment of learning, natural maturation and fun. This all day program consists of art, storybook reading, nursery rhymes, social skills, finger games, role-playing, prayer and much more in a rich tapestry of learning offered in an accepting and loving atmosphere.

You’ll see your child grow and blossom as he or she participates in activities designed to develop gross motor skills, language skills, color recognition, counting, and all other areas of associated with growth at this age. And, in Chapel and by daily example, they’ll learn friendship, thankfulness and values as they begin to understand the warmth of God’s love.

Junior Kindergarten

Designed for children who turn four by June 1, this all-day program prepares children for kindergarten with creative and unstructured play in a developmentally appropriate environment that is rich in language skills and energetic learning. Students begin exciting introductory lessons in math and science as well as growth oriented play with blocks, art, puzzles and games. Students begin to think independently by learning housekeeping skills and continue to find wisdom and entertainment in books.

Students gain important learning and life skills in our Open Court Reading Series and Handwriting Without Tears Program. Their worldview expands with French lessons, and their creative and physical sides are nurtured in music and physical education classes.

Junior Kindergarten students spend approximately thirty percent of their time each day on gross motor activities and interact with volunteer parents in the Motor Moms and Dads Program. This innovative program uses motor skills to teach both sides of the brain to work together, resulting in the development of the skills needed to identify letters, write and copy words, and read. Students’ natural curiosity is encouraged with science experiments and naturalists from Indy Parks who visit their classroom on a regular basis.

Kindergarten

As your child grows in every way, our program expands to meet his or her abilities, interests and curiosities. Children who are five by June 1 are challenged by stimulating academic programs and rewarded with activities rich with learning and fun.

Kindergarten expands the student's awareness and knowledge of the world and develops specific language, mathematical, reading, and critical thinking skills. Children continue learning French and attending music and physical education classes. One of the highlights of the curriculum is an Around the World trip, including explorations of each of the continents. This creative unit mimics real-world traveling experiences with a plane ride, a passport and a suitcase. Children also enjoy Simple Science, an opportunity to participate in mini-science experiments, and often use journal writing on a variety of topics.

You’ll marvel at your child’s growth as they continue with our Open Court Reading Series and focus on phonics, reading strategies, and vocabulary building. Our kindergarten program develops a lifelong love of reading that serves our students well in all educational and developmental activities that follow.
