Dear Parents,
The fifth graders did a wonderful job presenting the Richard of Wyck play this morning that was written in 1966 by the then sixth grade class. The music has been revised several times since then, but the wording has remained the same.
Next week is our CTP4 testing from ERB. The tests will be conducted Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings with an end time of 11 a.m. each day. It is extremely important that your child be here promptly at 8 a.m. so as to not miss any instructions. Several items to keep in mind:
A) A good night's sleep is important for any child who will be testing.
B) A hearty breakfast each morning will help ensure your child has the stamina to complete each test to his/her best ability.
C) Each child may bring a healthy snack Tuesday-Thursday. This includes: fruit, vegetables/dip, granola/protein bars, sandwiches, cheese/crackers, etc. Water is also acceptable (no other liquids permitted). Please be sure all snacks are PEANUT FREE and healthy.
D) When the students are finished with a section, they will be permitted to read or work on homework.
E) There will be light homework during ERB week, but each student will have regular study hall everyday, as well.
F) Monday study hall will be utilized to bubble in names on the scantron (this should take approximately half the study hall time).
Other announcements:
1) There were a few revisions to the IJCL Latin Competition awards. Please see attached.
2) Congratulations to Young Voices of Indianapolis singers. During spring break this group, directed by Mrs. Bender, headed to Dallas, Texas to compete in the Worldstrides Heritage Festival. The competition included 17 high school and middle school age choirs from around the United States. Young Voices not only received one of only 5 GOLD awards and an invitation to Carnegie Hall but was named the Most Outstanding Choral Group, meaning that we received the highest score of all the choirs competing. This is an enormous honor since they were also the youngest group in the competition.
