Why Give
St. Richard’s is a not-for-profit educational institution that receives our operating support from tuition and charitable giving. Our school embraces the spirit of philanthropy by partnering with our larger community to achieve shared goals. We have integrated the principles and practice of philanthropy into our curriculum through the Learning to Give? program through the Center on Philanthropy because we believe it is essential to teach our children to be change agents in the world. For this very reason, we invite you to take an active role in supporting our school community. This action will take many forms, from volunteering your time within the classrooms, sharing your expertise with our students and faculty, and financially supporting our school to whatever degree you are able.

While charitable giving is voluntary, we encourage and expect all current families to make a contribution to the annual fund. We hope that St. Richard’s School annual giving campaign will be the top philanthropic priority within our families, alumni and friends as we partner together to sustain the very spirit that makes St. Richard’s special.

How to Give
St Richard’s annual giving campaign provides some of the most useful support for our school. Giving to the annual campaign builds the unrestricted dollars that provide the most flexibility for the school’s leadership and administration to address the most pressing needs of the school. Annual gifts are the most productive gifts possible because they come with no strings attached. Gifts made to the annual giving campaign are used in the following manner:

  • Student scholarship
  • Faculty enrichment and support
  • Technology
  • Library enhancement
  • Music and art curriculum expansion
  • Classroom materials

Planned gifts
Become a charter member of the St. Richard’s School Legacy Society by making a planned or estate gift. Planned or deferred gifts are another way to make a gift to St. Richard’s School while meeting the long-term needs of your estate planning. This option is especially attractive for individuals holding highly appreciated assets that have become troublesome to divest because of capital gains taxes incurred upon selling. Did you know that making a planned gift to a charitable organization could provide you and/or a loved one with an income stream for life? Contributions can take the form of cash, securities, property, real estate, IRA accounts, retirement accounts, or life insurance. St. Richard’s has a complete planned giving program and we invite you to talk to us about how to make a planned gift to our school meet your charitable intentions as well as work for you.
